1. What is the most important lesson you’ve learned on your journey so far?

I love to meet young up and coming talent. I met a young person today who asked me the same question. What resonates with me is the value of networking. My first mentor out of school was involved in the HR association and was always meeting people. It really hit home for me when I opened my own business. Never underestimate the value of networking, both what you give and what you get from it.

2. What advice would you give to future business leaders looking to make their mark on the world?

I was recently asked “Why you? What are you bringing to the market that’s different from your competition. What do you differently?” This is not something you can do in a day, but you need to do it. Spend time on thinking about these questions and then play to your strengths – ideally turning your passion into your differentiator and clearly articulating it. 3. What are your sources of motivation and inspiration? How do you stay motivated/keep your cup full? Family and friends are my anchors in life and provide the balance that I crave. My energy comes from being with the people I love and I'm at my best when surrounded by their warmth and kindness. The COVID-19 years made me realize this even more. It can be your life experiences, your diversity, your knowledge but you need to know what that is. We admire Louise’s reflections on the questions she was recently asked and her encouragement for everyone to take the time to contemplate what they—whether as a leader, entrepreneur, or employee—bring to the table when it comes to their passions and purpose. At Sidekick, we believe in the 4Ps: purpose, passion, people, and profit to help you develop actionable steps to scale your business idea to its full potential. Connect with Louise on LinkedIn to see her next nugget of wisdom, innovative idea, and inspiration she shares next! Learn more about People + Culture Matters Inc.
